On the traces of the problem raised by the Aarhus Centre at the request of the citizens
On May 6, 2015 Kapan Aarhus Center provided to “SOSI” TV information and photographs of leaks in drain pipes of Kapan passing through Syunik community of Syunik province of the RA, as well as the decision adopted by the Board of experts of the Aarhus Centre on that issue on April 16 as a result of discussions of the Aarhus Center coordinator with the leadership of Kapan branch of “AWSC” CJSC on the elimination of leakage.
On May 7, 2015 a visit was organized with the journalists of “SOSI” TV to Syunik community to prepare a reportage on the work raised and consistently implemented by the Aarhus Centre
aiming to resolve this issue. The visitors were surprised to find out that the sewage was not only flowing into arable lands, where forage herbs were growing, but also into the vegetable garden where potatoes tubers were already seen.
The “SOSI” TV aired reportage on the issue, in which the Aarhus Center coordinator gave an interview presenting the court ruling on the similar issue in 2010, according to which the “AWSC” CJSC was obliged to eliminate the risk posed to human health and prosperity of the surrounding environment by filling the sewage into Voghji river.
In the case of filling the drainage into the arable lands may cause some intestinal infectious diseases, also are possible pandemic and other diseases, so explained the danger of the issues the infectiologist.
