Today is the Earth Day, the time to consolidate our efforts for the Mother planet’s sake
The Earth Day is designed to remind both the youth and adults, the poor and the rich, believers and infidels, that we have the knowledge and seek opportunities to seriously tackle the many problems of our planet’s environment.
When the first astronauts set foot on the Moon, the humanity had an opportunity to see the blue planet in a new way, which forced the world to look with a new view.
In 1970, the proclamation of the Earth Day was the unique reflection of mass protests and changes started in the 60′s.
2015 – Earth Day’s 45th anniversary – could be the most exciting year in environmental history. The year in which economic growth and sustainability join hands. The year in which world leaders finally pass a binding climate change treaty. The year in which citizens and organizations divest from fossil fuels and put their money into renewable energy solutions.
On this occasion, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon declared a message to the whole of mankind: “But the big decisions that lie ahead are not just for world leaders and policy-makers. Today, on Mother Earth Day, I ask each one of us to be mindful of the impacts our choices have on this planet, and what those impacts will mean for future generations. ”
The Earth Day is an occasion to combine all efforts for showing the world the new direction of development.
Looking back on the road we’ve passed it’s time to reconsider our attitude towards the Earth; it’s the new, intelligent generation’s turn to lead.
