Stepanavan also joined Eurobirdwatch 2014

During a few weeks in autumn millions of birds leave Europe fliting to Africa for wintering. On October 4-5, 2014 member organizations of BirdLife International invited people all over Europe to take advantage of this opportunity and discover the amazing world of bird migration.
Euro birdwatching 2014 was implemented in Armenia by the Union of Birds’ Protection of Armenia, which called anyone wishing join the European bird watching and involve as many participants as possible.
Stepanavan Aarhus Centre, responding to the call, committed to the work to discover the amazing world of birds migration on October 4-5, 2014. Not receiving
any posters and cards about the migratory birds from the Union of Birds’ Protection of Armenia, the eco activists organized birdwatching in Stepanavan urban park.

The majority of migratory birds is in danger because climate and habitats changes occur in their feeding, wintering areas and the migration areas where they stop. BirdLife noted with great joy that each year the number of people interested in birds‘ migration increases during the European birdwatching. So vitally it is important for migratory birds to keep their feeding areas, migration stopping areas and comfortable habitat for wintering sites.
