Raising Young people’s awareness on the Ecological Right

On November 13, 2014 Yerevan Aarhus Center hosted a workshop within “Creating potential of Youth organizations on the staff’s environmental rights, access to information and environmental justice” program. The workshop was organized by the “Sinjar Yezidis National Union” NGO, with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
B. Murazi, chairman of the organization welcomed the participants and wished productive work,then passed the speech to G. Ghazinyan, representative of the OSCE Office in Yerevan. The latter spoke about the activity of the OSCE Office, the necessity and importance of such programs.

A lecture on the essence, concept, adoption rules and structure of the Constitution was delivered by R. Makhmudyan, head of the Department for Organizational-Legal Activities of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the RA. The latter represented the essence of the Constitution, referred to the terms applied in the Constitution. Discussing certain items of the Constitution with the participants, he analyzed them, making even more clear and understandable its content.

N. Vardanyan, lawyer, OSCE expert delivered a lecture under the theme “Environment, Management, Legislation, Rights”. She presented the interaction between man and nature and consequences of the indiscriminate use of natural resources by the human and the possible damages of the mining industry on the environment and humans.

For the young participants the provided material was very interesting and applicable in future in terms of protecting their rights confidently and reasonably.
