Discussion of issues relating irrigation pipeline construction in Kuris community
At the invitation of S. Grigoryan, head of Kuris community of Syunik province on September 24, 2014 the representative of Aarhus Centre visited Kuris village to take part in the discussion of issues related to the construction of irrigation water pipeline of the community. There was also invited a representative of the construction company.
The Working Group visited the water discharge, which was close to the Azerbaijani and Armenian observation posts. The area was examined along with the entire water pipeline. A decision was made regarding the possibility of water pipeline construction, which will stretch about 1550 linear meters.
The village is located adjacent to the open pit of Agarak Copper Molybdenum Plant. From the picture is clearly seen what a dust is being raised to the village area. On the road, is also seen the empty rocks waste dump of Qajaran “ZCMC”, where are being opposed the scenic nature and the anthropogenic factors.
