Plane trees beheading was suspended

On April 11, Kapan Aarhus Centre received information that sanitary pruning of trees was performing in the city’s Central Park and a tree was cut down.
The coordinator visited the logging site and found out that half of the tree was rotten and could pose a threat, therefore, was subject to cutting.
There was discussed the need of cutting the semidry trees (it can be seen in the photos to make sure that they are dry).
But a more complicated problem was raised with regard to the fate of 6 plane trees in front of the Art College of Kapan. The director was instructed to cut a 3 m high tree, reasoning that it was preventing lighting
of the artists’ classrooms.
The long explanations of the Coordinator that tree “pruning” in such way was unacceptable were futile.
Fortunately the director arrived and the issue was resolved: the latter was fully agreed with the remarks of the Aarhus Center Coordinator.
As a result the nice plane trees survived to be “beheaded.”
