Disaster Risk Reduction training course in Vanadzor Aarhus Center
Training for trainers on Disaster Risk Reduction was held in Vanadzor Aarhus Center. Participants from Vanadzor, Spitak, Alaverdi, Gargar, Teghout and Archis communities of Tavush region, in their turn, will organize disaster risk reduction courses in 10 communities of Lori and Tavush regions, for more than 300 students. Aiming to share experiences on May 27-28 the training participants visited the Republic of Georgia and got acquainted with the programs implemented there.
The meeting participants received “Before disaster; during disaster; after disaster” booklets, which will be also provided to provincial residents.
The events are carried out within the framework of the “Enhancing Local Capacity and Regional Cooperation for CCA and Biodiversity Conservation in Georgia and the South Caucasus” project, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN) and Mercy Corps organization. Within the framework of the project the Aarhus Center provides a platform for eco-education.
