OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum in Prague to focus on reinforcing security and stability through good governance

VIENNA / PRAGUE, 9 September 2016 – The concluding meeting of the 24th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum starting on Wednesday, 14 September 2016, in Prague, will focus onStrengthening stability and security through co-operation on good governance.

Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Lubomír Zaorálek, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, and the Special Representative of the German OSCE Chairmanship 2016 Gernot Erler will open the meeting.
During the three-day conference, senior government officials, experts from academia, NGOs and international organizations as well as representatives from the private sector will discuss a variety of issues related to good governance.

Discussions will particularly focus on:

• Good governance and its impact on business climate and sustainable economic development.
• The role of the private sector in fighting corruption, money-laundering and financing of terrorism.
• Trade facilitation measures and good governance in supply chains.
• Good environmental governance and its impact on economic development, stability and security.
• Good migration governance and labour market integration.
The Economic and Environmental Forum builds on the results of two preparatory meetings held inVienna and Berlin this year. Its main objective is to stimulate deeper political dialogue and generate recommendations for concrete activities to assist OSCE participating States in dealing with economic and environmental aspects of security.
