Ecotourism Development Prospects Discussion in Hrazdan
On October 23, Hrazdan Aarhus Center hosted a seminar under the theme “Ecotourism Development Prospects in Armenia”. The aim was creating a youth group, which will support the newly created “Healthy Environment” NGO to carry out targeted activities towards the development of one of the four adopted areas: the eco-tourism.
The meeting was attended by NGO representatives and young people. Hrazdan Aarhus Center coordinator presented what is the ecotourism and what can be an obstacle for the ecotourism development. The seminar was held through discussion and question and answer, which aroused great interest among the public.
A. Ayvazyan, one of young participants having deep knowledge of the field gave rather useful information about the problems existing in the region’s historical sites and presented suggestions about the development of ecotourism in the region. He is the founder of Museum of History in Jrarat. From 2002, since 12 years old, the letter was engaged in gathering items.
Over the years, increasing the number of the collected archaeological, excavations, artifacts, ethnographic and household items, cross-stones, pottery, carpet weaving designs, film and photo materials has reached it to 18.000.
A. Ayvazyan has conducted various events in his own means, sometimes with the support of the Municipality has organized scientific expeditions, cultural and historical monuments areas cleaning, inventory of the discovered archaeological objects and other events involving members of “Young Archeologist Club” and “Church Lovers Youth Union” established on his own initiative, on the basis of the Museum. At the request of participants A. Ayvazyan undertook the management of the ecotourism wing of the NGO’s activity.
It was decided in the coming days to arrange a presentation on the subject at the Aarhus Center for a wider audience.
